Happy Holidays & Watch Stuff Get Shot
If one of the great
joys in life is the holidays and another is shooting stuff, what better
way is there to celebrate the holidays than by watching stuff get shot?
Sadly, we do not know who to give credit to for this video, but
hope you'll enjoy it all the same. Click

Second Tiger Valley Location Now Open
Tiger Valley has
expanded operations to include all training and competitions at Elm
Fork, a shooting range in Dallas. We will include additional
details in future newsletters, but events are underway at this location
and we look forward to seeing you out there! You can find Elm
Fork's website and basic information here.
Keep Your Glock Running
Glock pistols have proven to be
nearly indestructible, able to continue to operate with little
maintenance under the worst of conditions. Nonetheless, Glock has
recently announced maintenance guidelines that will keep your Glock
running in the best possible shape.
First, Glock recoil springs are not made of “magical Glock pixie
dust” that somehow resist wear unlike any other spring ever made.
These items should be replaced after three to five thousand rounds or
if the item fails a function check. Second, pull your magazine
springs out of duty magazines that are kept fully loaded. If the
magazine spring is a coil and a half smaller than a factory-fresh
spring then replace it. These springs are available directly from
Glock Customer Service for a small cost.
Finally, do not attempt to impact the world's oil supply when
lubricating your pistol. Over-lubrication is the cause of far
more problems than under-lubrication. Use the smallest possible
drop out of a needle oiler at the locations indicated in the manual.
While these suggestions come from Glock, owners of other pistols may want to give consideration to similar issues.
Equipment Spotlight
BugOut Bag from LaRue Tactical
The LaRue Bag is a well
thought out, multi-purpose bag that will give years of service, no
matter the usage conditions. Made of 1000D Cordura with heavy stitching
this bag is meant to last. Several of the features on the bag are
unique, giving it real versatility for use as a range bag, a medical
bag, a rapid response bag or even a tool bag.
Exterior
The outside of the bag is covered with four channels of PALS webbing,
which is suitable for adding a wide assortment of accessory pouches to
the bag. The bag also has a flap that will completely cover the outside
of the bag. The outside flap is a great securing feature and really
does keep gear safe and sound on the inside, even when the fastex
buckle isn’t secured. Even when you add ammo or first aid pouches
to the outside, the flap will still cover them.
Shoulder Strap
The shoulder strap is covered in PALS webbing and provides a nice wide
comfortable fit. Two large fastex buckles ensure that if the user needs
to take the strap off, it can be done quickly. While the webbing is
narrow, it provides enough room for things like cell phone and radio
pouches to be attached.
Main Pouch Size
The main pouch is sized to be able to carry just about everything one
would need for many different applications. The interior of the bag has
Velcro on the away side and a Velcro PALS webbing combination on the
side nearest the body. This allows the use to add any pouches and/or
dividers to the interior of the bag for limitless configurations. Large
drain grommets provide ample opportunity for water to escape should the
use need them. Additionally, the ends of the bag have elastic webbing
loops that are an idea fit for everything from a mini flashlight to
lightsticks. The main pouch also comes standard with a removable
universal holster, that when turned upside down can also be used to
hold a small radio.
Belt Hangers
The LaRue bag is unique in that in addition to a shoulder carry strap,
it also has two belt hanger straps for securing it to a belt. Since the
bag is a bit smaller than a standard gas mask bag, this is a nice added
feature, making it suitable for use as a dump pouch or to carry
whatever the user needs. When not in use, the belt hanger straps are
secured on the back of the bag with little added bulk.
Leg Strap
A leg strap is provided for use when the bag is setup in the belt
configuration. When not in use, it is also secured to the back of the
bag.
Final Details
The BugOut Bag can had in three colors, with a "rifle" variant
available with mag pouches mounted on the outside of the bag. Find them all at
LaRue's website.
