Introduction
The principles of moving and shooting
are fundamental skills taught in any pistol or rifle class. Many
training classes lack the facilities to engage moving targets and
the resulting lack of understanding can lead to very poor tactical
choices regarding movement and shooting. While
a F-16 might be
a difficult
target to hit with an AK-47, hitting a target that is moving at speeds
required to fire an accurate shots is not difficult at all.
The
bottom line is that the disadvantages of being the one doing the moving
and shooting far outweigh the advantages.
Testing Overview
These
concepts were put to the test by
students in a level one pistol class. For all shooters, this was the
first formal weapon training that they had received and no one in
the class had ever shot a moving target before.
